Less than 3 months..... Passed through San Fran a few weeks ago and saw Portman and her new man!...well the man she married! ;)
They treated us like royalty...so if you are every passing though the San Fran area...stay with Becky and Dave for sure! |

| There are days when things seem to go not the way you planned...like when it rains when it should be sunny, seeing people when you are wanting to be alone, when you feel a bit sick to the stomach when you want to feel your best, makeup that doesn't stay on the lashes, or your car falling apart. Sometimes these things can make it feel like the whole world is out to get you...or they let you know that you are alive, that you are an active participant in life. It also seems as though being able to share that everyday mess with someone else makes it seem not as bad as it would if I were alone! All that randomness happened on Saturday...all in one day...but it could go down as one of the BEST days of my life...because I now get to share all of life's craziness and joy with an amazing man...Chad Hammond...because... I AM ENGAGED! Chad asked me to marry him on the beach where we had our first kiss...though that time it was beautiful and sunny. This time we kissed...we were soaking wet, I had mascara running down my face because of the rain and I had a gorgeous ring on my finger! This is the family that I am honored to join...
(Chad is the one with the hat on!) I hope to post some pictures of us soon...and the ring because he did an amazing job! So July 13 or 14...I am going to be a married woman...(we are still picking a date!) YEAH! |

Remember that time when I didn't write anything on zanga for a long time...well, I am finally sending out a quick little hey! Am in Germany for Christmas with my parents and my sis...unfortunately the boy had to work all break so he couldn't come! It's been good to be with my family...do you ever have those moments when you are sitting in a room with people you have lived with for the past 28 years and think...how well do I really know these people? And how do you get to know people that you already "know?" And what happens when you realize that they might not really want to go to that same depth with you? All I have been able to figure out is that it takes work and boldness...so here's to having courage to know people that I love at a much deeper lever. Mom, Dad, sis and me Basel
Me and my super cool sis! |

So here are a couple of pictures from a family vacation we took a few weeks ago...I tired to put a real one up of Chad and I up...but the systems just wouldn't allow for it! It was amazing to have the boy back from Israel...nothing beats having the boy live up the street! Am now back in Portland...getting ready for the school year to begin! (the little boy is my nephew...just in case some of you were wondering!) |
